Mr. Self Destruct
Nov. 18th, 2003 10:49 pmI think one of the most fun parts of watching 24 is to see all these carefully designed plots fall completely apart. It doesn't really pay to scheme on this show because the minute you start planning ahead, things are going to go horribly wrong.
This was my favorite episode so far this season. The most interesting, the most suspenseful, the one that I enjoyed watching the most. This episode had the most character development and I finally started to care about Anne (love that ending scene b/w her and Wayne).
In addition, we found out more about Gael, saw how he was manuevering to take over CTU - always a HUGE mistake. BTW, why do they act like being head of CTU is all about running computers? I was a tiny bit confused there. And Go Michelle for telling him off.
I love that we got to see Michelle's reaction to the news and that moment where Kim and Michelle looked at each other, each awaiting to hear who was down - great moment. I also liked Chloe's apology, which somehow made her more of a real character, and I really related to her in that scene. Oh, and someone addressed the whole 'cell phones aren't allowed here thing' and I think they're gonna tie up any kind of plot holes like that in the future. It's never a good idea to accuse 24 of not following up on plots 'cause you never know what will happen in the rest of the season.
Kyle and his girl are in some sort of canning jar in the middle of a room - maybe they're being turned into the Fly!
Tony's in the hospital - condition unknown...and Michelle realizing she can't go to the hospital was heartbreaking.
If I was Kim, whenever my dad got on the phone and started telling me how he was proud of me and knows I can make my own decisions I'd immediately assume I'm never going to see him again - just a thought. And he used her! And used the wrong access codes -- see what Heroin does to your mind???
I wish I could figure out what the heck Salazar said to Jack about 'caving' and a 'girlfriend', but it was all goobledy gook to me.
Palmer and Jack spoke! Eeeee! And that cheek touch, eeeeee! man, again, you knew he was going to do something bad really soon. Jack's not the type of guy to show affection unless something is about to happen.
Such a good episode, and the we learned how long Jack's been back, how much they've seen Salazar, how long Chase KNEW he was using drugs...etc. When Palmer told Jack that he wouldn't be able to take back his fugitive status, my jaw just dropped and I was like 'what?' 'what????' I may have to start calling Jack, Mr. Self Destruct, because he seems to be really good at that.
I got a feeling that any conversation between Kim and Chase is gonna be REAL interesting. Everything's falling apart. And it's only episode 4.
LA is in SUCH big trouble.

Date: 2003-11-18 08:25 pm (UTC)That was a great scene where Michelle and Kim looked to each other awaited the news of who's loved one was shot. Poor Tony -- Poor Michelle. ;_;
I can't believe Jack actually went through with busting Salazar out of prison. Nina would be so proud of him. >:)
