The main difference in watching 24 and XF
Nov. 12th, 2003 12:59 pmBack in the day, XF used to have episodes where things happened that truly endangered and or killed main characters but those were called mytharcs and they only happened during sweeps and only a few times a season. The rest of the time were MOTW's where main characters might get hurt or be in danger but you knew since it wasn't a mytharc everyone was pretty much okay. In 24? EVERY episode is mytharc, anyone can be hurt at ANY time. There's no such thing as a 'safe' episode, there's no episode you can watch and go, well nothing bad will happen in this hour...because something bad *always* happens. Well, except for the second ep this season, not much happened there.
But last night? On the THIRD episode - that's right, we've still got 21 to go - of the season, amazing major things happened. Things that made me entirely invested in this season and desperately waiting for each new episode. Cause I have to tell you the truth, Eps 1 and 2 were good, but I didn't feel a desperate need to know what was going to happen next. Now? I'm strapped in and ready for the ride baby. When Luis was killed by the guard, I gasped and thought oh...my show is back.
However, Jack has to kill someone soon, because it's been three whole episodes and he hasn't, I'm just saying.
Also, looking at the preview next week when he walks into Salzar's cell he looks really...calm. Which frightens me, because I think that might mean that he shot up *shudder*.
Although I still wish that Tony and Michelle were on vacation "today". Preferably on a tropical island swinging on a hammock with their arms around each other laughing. What? Denial is fun.
I might have to update the icon now.
