My thoughts are with those in SoCal right now. I hope the fires go out soon.

Saw Runaway Jury tonight because someone told me there was gonna be a 24 ad. Well, there wasn't but it was still a pretty good film. Now I remember why I love John Cusack. And Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman's performances are worth the price of admission. I was pleasantly surprised.

Purchase people, you know, if you go to the Cheesecake Factory at like 9:30 on Sunday night there's no wait? I don't know if that's usually the way it is or if this was a special occasion.

Oh and I feel sorry for the people who put together Cold Mountain and Master and Commander. They want SO badly to be good films. SO badly. They scream "We're artistic! We're ART films!" Except, I just got this feeling, they may not be. Especially Cold Mountain.

Whenever I hear of a civil war film I think of that scene in Irreconciable Differences and the "Civil War Musical"..."this...civil war...isn't gonna get me dooooown." Now there's a random 80s ref for ya.

Hope everyone is safe and sound!

Hmmm. Apparently, you only get the Bauer if you go to small-town theaters in Southern California. Sorry about that.

John Cusack is one of my heroes. :)

Really? What a bummer. And like anyone wants to be there these days. I can't believe how awful those fires are. Those poor people.

Hmmmmm, yeah. I want to hope that Cold Mountain might be good, because I liked the book, but even since the decision to film it in Europe instead of native North Carolina...been a little unsure how it would turn out. : /
