"I hate parties," Chloe muttered to her friend as she was almost pushed to the door. "It's just people getting drunk and having the same stupid conversations they always have."
"You're lucky I've got a high level of patience," her friend Carly answered teasingly and knocked on the door.
"Carly!" A tall Klingon warrior said as he hugged her tightly.
"Billy, don't you know that costume was old five years ago?" She said gently but leaned into his embrace.
"Oh, really Carly is this what you wanted to bring me for so I could watch you..."
"Don't mind her, she's still mourning for Tara."
Chloe waved slightly.
"Nice Willow," Billy said.
Chloe didn't know how to respond to compliments, so she nodded and moved further into the party, letting her friend spend time with the person she'd obviously come to see.
She was completely blindsided by a woman with pointy ears and a long flowing dress, who knocked her over. The woman
was running from a cloaked man who had a gold painted hula hoop in his hands.
He got the hoop around the woman's waist and she giggled as he said "One ring to bind them,"
Chloe rolled her eyes and stood up, brushing off her skirt and wondering how much longer she'd have to stay.
"Don't forget to smile, Chloe." Her friend Andrea said as she pressed a drink into Chloe's hand and ran away as the ring man chased her too.
Chloe took a sip and then another, at least getting drunk was a way to forget the complete lameness of the party.
"Good evil Willow," a man said in a voice a little too affected to be straight. Well, at least he wasn't trying to create his own version of Lord of the Rings.
"Yeah," Chloe answered, looking at his Wookie costume. Harmless. But she self-conciously touched her newly red hair anyway.
"So you work in computers?" He asked.
Chloe resisted the urge to roll her eyes and comment on his brilliant sense of deduction, instead she smiled in a way that she hoped didn't look too forced and nodded.
"Me too," he said taking a sip of his drink. "I don't think some of the people here could run an abacus, let alone a computer system."
She looked over at him. Okay, this was someone who might not want to make her throw something through the window.
As the night went on they drank more and more, which meant that gradually they moved closer together until she put her arm around him and half giggled into his mask that she had a room not that far away.
Giggling. Such un-Chloe like behavior. But tongiht she was Willow who might giggle and would in the right story take a man back to her room. Heck, later Willow would take a woman too.
A Wookie. Sleeping with a Wookie. Well, her friend was currently pawing a Hobbit so it wasn't that much worse.
He took off his mask and grabbed her hand. "Okay, lets go," he said. She finished the rest of her drink and ran with him to her room.
The next morning she awoke naked with a horrible headache and a sick feeling in her stomach. The Wookie was nowhere to be found, but it was just as well since she couldn't entirely remember if the sex was any good.
Oh God, she realized clutching her head, I don't even know his last name. She struggled to remember his first name. Adam. Yes. His name was Adam.
