A great surprise
Jun. 8th, 2003 12:37 amWow, can we say foreshadowing? Like, the trajectory of the season is very clear from the first episode. When Palmer's all like "I don't want my people working against me" and Rayburn kept trying to get him to talk to the joint chiefs.
I will say, that having played Tony in the RPG I was shocked that he and Jack didn't fight in the first episode, LOL. It was much less...antagonistic than I'd thought it would be. Also, he trusted him, which is interesting.
The hacksaw scene, even knowing exactly what was going to happen, was still effective. Oh, and I have to mention...the beard? Didn't hate it surprisingly. I loved the scene when he saw Kim and *sniff*...plus, the apartment! I know what the apartment looks like now! And his car! I feel so happy! I was so happy when I got the ep that I squealed, literally.
Also shocking, didn't hate SWSGAG right away. I only started hating her really when she got more and more annoying and whiny. It's still shocking that Marie turned out to be the terrorist, no sign of it at all in this episode.
I wanna see the second episode now! I can't WAIT for the DVD's.
Today was pretty eventful actually. Went to a MAC event where I got a lot of make-up and a small makeover thingie. I looked good, I didn't even recognize myself in the mirror. Then, later, went to the movies, saw The Italian Job no spoilers, but I really enjoyed it. LOVE Seth Green and I have a brand new saying that I must put into effect soon.
I am now totally convinced that Kiefer must be in a movie with his dad. I saw MASH a few nights ago finally, what a weird movie, but Altman is a genius.
In other news, lost my mom in the mall, only one of us had a cell phone. Also, had a great conversation with mom and sis tonight, we really had a heart to heart to be cliched, but it was great. I feel much closer to my sister now.
Oh, and
fyerfly21 sent me the funniest screencaps...heeeeeee.

Date: 2003-06-07 10:16 pm (UTC)- I think I have most of S2 on tape if you want.
- Loved MASH the movie and the show as well. Sutherlands Sr. & Jr. together would be too freaky, wouldn't it? They look as much alike as Martin & Charlie Sheen do.

Date: 2003-06-07 10:43 pm (UTC)It's so much fun! You know, we need villians...hehehe. Thank you - it's so great to do it with such talented writers. - I think I have most of S2 on tape if you want.
Aww...thanks! But, I already am procrastinating on a whole bunch of stuff and a few hours of episodes to watch would give me even more reasons not to research my senior project - lol. I keep forgetting to do it, been so busy at work.

Well they'd have to play father and son obviously. *hopes for that scene in next season of 24* Well a girl can dream :)
MASH was very cool, reminded me of Catch-22 in some ways. I want to see it again, it's weird the things that cable sometimes shows. I had to choose between that and Flatliners...AGAIN. LOL.

Date: 2003-06-07 10:49 pm (UTC)And even though I can't remember any of it now, Catch-22 was one of my favorite books when I was a kid (and reminded me of MASH also).
My memory is shot, but I do remember it impacted me greatly when I was very young...

Date: 2003-06-07 10:54 pm (UTC)I love Catch-22 -- obviously. I had to read it two more times though to even begin to understand what was going on. I love stories like that. I think I watched reruns of MASH when I was younger but my mind is so gone lately.
It's weird the things that can really influence how you think.
