Something in the way she moves...
Apr. 17th, 2003 04:25 pmShe will never see this :) But Happy Birthday!!!
Anyway, I just realized that I never posted what I felt 'bout 24 on Tuesday or anything of yesterday. So, yesterday.
I did so much work yesterday. Ran up and down stairs, carried things, cleaned entire rooms...my legs hurt *so* much right now. But, for the Passover feast? So worth it. We had brisket and turkey and sweet potatoes with marshmellows. Oooh and chicken soup, yummy yummy homemade chicken soup.
It's really nice to get together with family. It's funny, but we can't get through a seder without giggling. I'm not sure why, I think it has something to do with the way that the prayer books are written. Something about thou and canst...and all that quasi-old English language.
Something
cadenzaalli said about endings really made me think. I'm reminded of the beginning of "The Blessing Way" when the voice over says that things survive as long as we remember them. It's been a while since I've seen this episode so I could be wrong, but I think that's the key to the idea of an ending.
I mean, everything goes away eventually, but the only way to make sure that the things we love are remembered is to teach people about them -- teach our friends, our children, everyone. It's the message of 1984...that you're only truly lost if you don't know your history (and by your I mean nation, personal, etc).
But yes, endings aren't forever -- the only true ending is forgetting.
On that note -- Tuesday's 24...
I made the mistake of trying to eat during Tuesday's episode. I couldn't really do it. I mean, wow.
That seriously disturbed *me*. Now the important thing to remmeber about that statement is that in my younger years, I was a member of groups like Mulder Torturers Annonymous (MTA) and used to write/co-write stories that were pretty graphic. I also read things that are seriously disturbing. However, the torture on 24? Most. Horrible. Thing. Ever. And that's including like, the dental chair of death.
I could barely even look at the screen. I credit the acting and the directing with making that scene truly horrible.
However, at the same time, I was overwhelmed by the cuteness of Michelle/Tony. Awwwww!
Plus, Mike? Nooooooooo. Not Mike, anyone but Mike, I trusted him! Poor Lynne.
I didn't think it was POSSIBLE to make Naked!Jack somehow totally unsexy and unerotic...so I guess kudos to the 24 team. Poor Jack :(
I still wanted Nina to show up.
Most random connection though - I was reminded of the scene in season one when Jamey's found out and Jack asks to talk to her. Something about the way that the phone was shoved against his face reminded me of that -- also, they were both about "deals" in a way.
Again, still wanted Nina to show up.
