Okay after talking about making a 24 fan video for...well months now I finally dl'd some software took a song and some eps and yes...made one. Once I started I couldn't stop.

This is kinda a very very very very early birthday present for Saffy whenever she comes back since she introduced me to this band.

It's a song called Apocalpyse Please by Muse. And I think it really fits the hotel arc. Actually, that's how she introduced it to me, like "This song is so season three!" But it is.

It comes in 2 yummy flavors: (From yousendit.com so DL now before it disappears!)

These are both .wmv format. (I think they play on Mac, not sure).

1) Low-bandwith (4 meg version): Hotel Arc video-low bandwith

2) High-bandwith (10 meg version): Hotel Arc video-high bandwith

Icon by [livejournal.com profile] _dreamoutloud_ that has nothing to do with video but the last time I did any kind of editing was in December so it does feel weird to be doing it again.

and yeah it's 9 am...maybe I should try sleeping.

Dude. That was awesome. I'm usually wary of videos, but this was really, really good.

*happy dance* This is great. Maybe I should not put the sleep icon in your face, when you do such wonderful things at night. :)

It turned out so great. Loved it. And I heared Muse for the first time. Opinion? Very good. I really should consider getting something on CD. :)

The whole clip is great. I loved the ending, when you jump between the Jack/Chappelle scenes to the hotel. Very well done. It's even more heartbreaking than in real. And I really mean that!

Would you tell me which program you used? If found two crappy ones so far. Both work, but I'm not sure how the end result will look like. :(

Damn Movie Maker. I really should get XP. But for XP, I need a faster computer. :(

Anyway. Can I put the links on my message board? We have a topic to collect all music videos on the net. The people there would LOVE to see it. :)

Sadly, one cannot view this *yet* on a Mac without downloading Windows Media Player (ew.) I don't like Windows Media because it makes you put in your password to install, so unnecessary. At least it doesn't hijack all the formats like it used to; Thank god for small miracles.

Usually you can view wmv files on a Mac using mplayer or vlc. I prefer mplayer, but vlc works too.

It's my testament to our friendship that I downloaded it anyway. Really loved to see all the Michelle bits together. Nice use of the parallel between Chappelle and the Virus. You may wish to edit the end to say Video Arrangement by Catch22girl since you know, you didn't shoot, direct or star in the original, and plagiarism is a bit of a soft spot for some these days.

Much fun. Thanks for the sharing.

Oh my god! That was incredible. I'm shaking! I swear, when Gael's nose started to bleed, I got chills. And the scene with Michelle giving Gael her gun? Jesus.

Very well done!

I like it. :)

Unfortunately I can't listen to it at what I like to call 'optimum' volume (i.e. LOUD) right now because it's the wee small hours of the morning, but even at non-optimum volume it is good. :) Have to admit, it was a slightly weird experience for me because I'm used to music videos with incredibly fast turnover rates where individual clips last no more than 1-2 seconds but I appreciate that in this case that rate probably wasn't appropriate - partly because of the demands of the song, and partly because of the material available (multiple 22-episode seasons in comparison to four episodes, not all of which focused on the hotel storyline). Also a tricky one to do because of all the instrumental bits - I can see what you cut it short at the end.

Struck me as incredibly cool, though, the way you sort of merged the deaths at the hotel with the death of Chapelle - and I agree with [livejournal.com profile] xandra73 that it was 'worse' (or, you know, more gut-wrenching, or however you want to put it) than the show itself because it appeared to occur more suddenly in the video. Also... I can't really remember, because I've only watched it through once, but was the shot (when we see Chappelle fall over) timed to be simultaneous with a drumbeat or something from the song? Stupid as it sounds, I think that might be a contributory factor.

Or, possibly, I'm rambling like a crazy woman at 2am when I really should be sleeping. Either way, it's all good.

And I admit to squealing at the very end. Yes, I'm sad. ;)

I wanted to include that kind of personal "this is the end of my world" feeling and then kind of contrasted Jack and Michelle although that's an odd contrast I admit.

[nods] And that came across in the video... to me, anyway, though I did have the benefit of knowing about the interview where Matt Bellamy said that and knowing that you'd been told about it. :)

In other news, my typing appears to have improved overnight. Huzzah!

Hey...I found this a while ago and only recently decided to look for it again, since I remember I thought it was amazing. And this time I actually use LJ, so I just thought I'd say how much I love it. Which would be a lot.
