In Love
Falling in love was never a good idea. It was messy, it was awkward, it took up valuable time.
Thinking about the way your boss bites his lip when you're trying to crack a complicated code or losing yourself in the memory of his hands against your skin when you're supposed to be working to keep America secure, just doesn't work.
There's all sorts of issues involved with trust and secrecy. You know that he has a difficult time trusting people, especially women. However, when he looks at you in just that way it suddenly doesn't matter that technically whatever you're doing might be against some rule book somewhere because all you really want is for him to hold you tighter.
Late at night, when you're panting into his ear and digging your nails into his skin you don't think about the terrorists or the computer glitches. When you are on top (and more often than not, you are) and watching his face and knowing that he loves you too, and enjoying the feel of his fingers against your breasts, it's hard to view the idea of an "us" as a bad thing. Even if sometimes just when he looks at you from his office you have that same rush of emotion.
So, if you accidentally misdial a number because he's standing behind you and it takes all your energy to resist crawling into his arms, or you have to look down when he's in the room because you're afraid of what other people might think, it seems like a small price to pay.
If your co-workers have begun to wonder why you can't stop smiling or why you keep being summoned to his office, they can make up their own reasons.
You're in love. It's hard to think of anything else. And love is many things, but it is almost never convenient
Word #55: Practical.

SQUEE! Thank you for writing that... brilliant way to start the day for me, since I now have to have breakfast and then go down to the train station to apply for a Young Person's Railcard, which is scary. :(
