catch22girl: (film)
Okay, I've finally started researching for my senior thesis. I'm looking for books on Power and Paraonia, or ones about the last stages of the Cold War. Also, anything about paranoia and fiction would be a HUGE help but I couldn't find anything like that in Borders and I'm not entirely convinced that it exists.

For some odd reason, most of the books I could find on modern America in Borders were either "Post-9/11 oral history" or like, Reagan's biographies. I did almost pick up the book on John O'Neill, because it's such a frightening fascinating depressing story. However, that wouldn't do much for my senior thesis.

Superweird essay on meaning and reality by Philip K. Dick, probably part of a talk that he never gave. Some of it's just freaky. It's called "How to Build a Universe that Doesn't Fall Apart Two Days Later" Some really interesting things about reality and perception.

Couldn't sleep so since Cinemax had run The Lost Boys earlier this week I watched it on TiVo. I freakin' love Grandpa. I think they needed more than two songs in it though. That 'thou shalt not fall' song gets just the tiniest bit overplayed. Also love the frog brothers. It's scary how much better [livejournal.com profile] queen_kiwi's fics are than the actual film.

Then I rewatched SilverAngstNeedleScene (which just works as a nonspoilery way to refer to it). *sob* I, yes...*sob*. Just...and...*sob*...If the rest of the season is anything like that I might have to start watching 24 with a box of tissues.

*sniffle*

Oooh tomorrow's Tuesday. I kinda wanna see the premiere with commercials just to see how it's different.

In honor of season three. I thought of this after writing the last entry.

Because you know it's SO true.

TVWop's 24 recap is up. I gotta say, maybe I'm just not feeling very snarky towards the characters, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did last year. Except for a few things, which were very funny, it seemed like the reviewer sorta missed the point in some scenes. Or I'm just feeling protective of the show. Either way.

From here: Yet more about season three

If you guys haven't seen it, I thought some people on my FL (oh, you KNOW who you are) would get a kick outta this quote: Gordon says. "That's one of the themes that we're running through this year, with Palmer and Jack and Kim -- love and work."

heheheheh. See! Theirloveissocanon *giggle*
