Now I'm freakin' ecstatic. Okay, I think most people know the results by now. Don't blame me if you get spoiled :)

My favorite part about the Oscars? Take *that* Gangs of New York (refer to earlier rant about my feelings on that film).

I *heart* Steve Martin. I found his opening monologue hysterical. It was also great to see all the old Oscar winners. It's not every day that 59 Oscar winners are on the same stage.

I thought the tributes and "Hollywood history" moments were well done too. Not too long, not too short and the Peter O'Toole honorary Oscar...*so* deserving. He is really amazing. My Favorite Year was a great movie, everyone should go out and see it. And if you haven't seen Lawrence of Arabia...that movie defines gorgeous filmmaking.

I also got a real kick out of the Cameron Diaz hair moment, it's like everyone's biggest fear. Yes, they're going to catch you the minute you're playing with your hair and chewing gum. Some people could not look more bored. I swear that at the end there, I heard all this background noise.

And EMINEM won! I just rewatched 8 Mile last night, so that made me very happy. This almost makes up for the academy not giving "Blame Canada" the Oscar a few years ago. No, on second thought not.

But, the things that made me happiest and I mean like freakin' shocked with happiness: -Kidman winning for "The Hours" and so deserving. I mean, there aren't even words to describe her performance in that film. I wouldn't have believed it was the same person.

-Almodovar winning best original screenplay for Talk To Her. I was so happy with this, I can't even say. It was an amazing film. He just takes these topics that no one else would even touch and makes them beautiful and painful and brings you into these lives of all these damaged people. If someone likes painful romance and dark humor and hasn't seen any of his films. Well, they just must go out there right now and see one.

Finally, last but not least... Chicago winning best picture! SO deserving. I loved that movie.

Well apparently, now I must get myself out there and see the Pianist.. That acceptance speech was beautiful.

Michael Moore's got a lot of guts. I'll tell ya that.
