Wow, Thursdays are *so* my long day. Just got back from Genres of Affect.

Genres of Affect's first paper -- due in two weeks -- is a book review. I chose to do one by William Paul called "Laughing Screaming: modern Hollywood horror and comedy." I think some of you guys have heard me complain about this book before. At one point, reading one chapter, I wanted to throw the book against a wall. This guy spends an entire chapter talking about the beauty that is "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", he lumps "MASH" in with "Animal House" and "Porky's". He misses the plot of so many movies. He has an entire chapter where he bashes Bill Murray and keeps referring to the characters in the movies as Bill Murray which is so obnoxious because that's like the first rule of film analysis! You can't do that!

Moreover, he keeps going back to original literature texts to flesh out scenes of horror films and....arrggggh ::virtually throws book into shredding machine:::

I feel better now.

I feel so out of it today. Called a shrink who is supposed to be calling me back, but isn't. Saw "Dracula" and "Peeping Tom" for Genres of Affect.

Oh! So I went to get my picture for my modern art II class and there was like NO selection and most artists would not fit into the 3Bergs theories (Greenberg, Rosenberg, Steinberg -- my own abbreviation). Luckily the recent acquisitions wing had a Raschenberg that should fit in nicely to at least two of them. Not so much Greenberg, but then again, maybe. I don't know.

To top off my great mood, I went to the gym yesterday and found out that my body fat percentage is a few points above average. I need to start working out, heck, I need motivation to start working out. Because right now I have my dad yelling about how I'm not working out enough, which is true. I just need to want to move, and right now all I really want to do is lie down.

Mr. Rogers died today - he will be missed :(
