Master and Commander

This was a lot better than it looked in the ads. I was very impressed by parts of it. although the theater I saw it in had a kind of bad sound system so I couldn't hear some of the dialogue.

Oh, Russell Crowe is STILL hot, not as hot as Gladiator, but still. He was a good Captain and his crew had some really guys too - lol. I enjoyed it a lot. Need to see it again though because I missed the first four minutes and I felt *SO* lost.

Excellent special effects, you feel like you're on a ship. The lighting was pretty amazing too.

I don't know what it's like in the books, but the Captain and his Doctor seem close. Really close. Really really close.

Good make-up too. I might make some icons if I feel up to it :)

Master and Commander was an enteraining film. I actually enjoyed that some of the dialogue was difficult to hear, it kind of gives the feeling that these people know each other and therefore don't need to ennunciate everything, but as an audience we could still appreciate the context and tone.

Besides, the film gets high marks for making clear to me the importance of a certain attitude of philosophical thought-- You should always pick the lesser of two weavles.

I thought that was such a great line, that was when the film really really got me as a film. LOL. But I still say that their relationship was 'special'.
