Food is better than sleep

After fasting all day for Yom Kippur, I can quite honestly say that I'd rather have food than sleep.

That pancake I got to have to break fast was just great -- mmmmm pancake. Then we had pizza and pretty much went through the kitchen, not eating makes you very hungry.

My nontooth still hurts and that side of my gland is swollen, I'm gonna have to go see the dentist, who is going to yell at me for not taking good enough care of my teeth -- it's what they do. I guess at my age I shouldn't feel guilty when the dentist looks at me in that "tsk, tsk" way, but yet, I do. I've been much better. Really.

I need to get a job and get health and dental insurance. They charge really way too much.

I need another show like I need a hole in the head, but now I'm watching Everwood. Nooooooo.

Oh! I ordered "Dude, Where's My Country", the new Michael Moore book and "Hollywood from Vietnam to Reagan and Beyond..." a book for my senior thesis, cause, really, I need to be able to write in it.

I'm going through the Pauline Kael book, unfortunately there are a lot of early 80s movies I haven't seen. It's difficult to read reviews of movies you've never even heard of, let alone seen.

Saw the season premiere of SNL yesterday. They just have no idea how to really do political humor, it's sad.

Well I'm not going into school today

Woke up with the right side of my mouth in pain, have dentist appointment Thursday. Hopefully it'll be over in time for my wonderful Thursday Weimar class (does the fun ever start?)

But yes - this is the latest (scary) news from Purchase - ah, gotta love it. Apparently, someone called into the fire department today saying there's gonna be a shooting at Purchase School. The police have interpreted this to mean ALL educational places in Purchase. So the Children's Center is closed but all other classes are on schedule. However, they've added more cops and are stopping every car at the gate. Yes, I think I'll stay home.

Y'know, it's a really good thing that children are protected, but are all college students expendable?
