Yesterday I went up to MA and went to an arts festival. I got to see this really neat form of pottery, raku? or something like that, which turns regular glazed clay rainbow colored. It was very cool. This guy, he stood in front of a tub full of ashes and holding up a vase that was heated to about 2000 degrees, he put newspaper on it and everyone stood back cause the paper burned immediately. Then, he put the vase in the sawdust/ashes and controlled the amount of the clay exposed to air. It was amazing. You learn something new every day.

I also got to try some real fresh maple syrup and there's nothing like real maple syrup. I didn't even know there were four different types. It was funny because the samples were in these little plastic cups, and also there was only a little bit in each one, I had this feeling that 'I'm having a shot of maple syrup'.

Funny quote from yesterday:

I'm driving with my parents and my dad sees a sign saying "Antiques" and he says, we can't call them antiques anymore. (referring to the extremely stupid 'french' fry decision...something he regards as the height of insanity)

I ask, what should they be called?

He says: Old Freedom Items

Then he says, you know the Belgians didn't support us either. So we can't call them Belgian waffles anymore, we have to call them anti-terrorism waffles.

Hee! I love my dad.
