Mom's graduation

My mom graduated tonight from college -- she got her masters of professional studies, so now she's a qualified expert in reading and writing. Go Mom!!!

I went dress shopping with her, helped her pick out something, even though I'm not the fashion guru of this house -- but my sister wasn't feeling well. Yesterday, my sister's voice went, so, yeah, but luckily it's coming back!

So, the most boring part of any graduation ceremony is the reading of the names, they should let you leave after your family/friend gets their diploma. Just a thought. Although, I know that's unfair to anyone after them, I do! I think they should make sure that the commencement speakers don't bore the audience to tears, although the keynote speaker was pretty cool.

Got to eat at a really nice restaurant with lots of good conversation and my mom loved her gift of the electronic pen -- it remembers what you write! She also got the most beautiful crystal lion, she loves lions. It was a great dinner, very relaxing, had a little wine, and right now I'm feeling pretty good. The restaurant also had huge portions.

Seeing X2 tomorrow, hopefully.

Reread the season one 24 guide...still not sure if I can really consider it canon.

Otherwise, today was okay. Got the next book after "A Drink Before the War" by Dennis Lehane and it already rocks. Love him. I really want the new Atwood book -- post-apocalypse, virus, missing memories? I'm so there. Why are hardcovers SO expensive? Why?
